memorial day weekend 2013

What did we do most of the weekend??
Eat, play outside, swim, play outside, smoke a brisket and have friends over, play outside,
go to a pool party and more playing outside.

How could these two be from the same parents??

Love those cheeks!

My big girl.

taylor swift = priceless moment

Last night my friend and I took our girls to see Taylor Swift.  Abby and I have been counting down the days until her concert.  It did NOT disappoint.  That girl can put on a show!

Before we left.

Getting to Cowboy Stadium.

After we stood in a l-o-n-g line for t-shirts, we walked in to find our seats.
LOVE this picture.

Waiting for the concert to start.  They were GIDDY!

Ahhhh....the look on this girl's face the whole night made it all worth it.
She would stand up, clap her hands and sing at the top on her lungs.
She was beaming the whole night.

It was a fun night with my girl.  I am pretty sure this won't be our last Taylor Swift concert!

pre-k graduation 2013

Abby's last day of pre-k was yesterday.  Her school had a sweet little graduation ceremony.
It was a really sweet time for the graduates.

Abby's sweet teacher Mrs. Kelly

After the ceremony there was a reception.  Abby made a new friend this year, M.

And...both kids are over pics at this time.

Summer is officially here!!  Hunter finished MDO yesterday as well.
Man it was so nice to not have to set my alarm this morning!!!

WAIT....I NEVER have to set my alarm.  : )

Here's to a summer full of fun and family time before my girl starts KINDER!!

getting ready for summer

We had a pretty busy week, but Monday morning was perfect park weather.  I know it's going to be too hot to go to parks soon, so I took advantage of it and we actually went to two parks that morning!

Summer is upon us!  Dance and swimming lessons have a few more weeks, the last week of school is next week and things like BSF and MOPS have ended until fall.  Not sure really where the year went.  It all goes by so fast.  Makes me want to soak up moments like these with my kiddos while they still like me and want me to take them to the park.

Here's to a fun, purposeful summer.  Bring on the pool, cookouts, camps, trips and heat.
Ok...not really the heat, but it's coming so bring it on.

And...here's to watching movies with goggles on.
Because that's not weird at all.

The weather was perfect this weekend!

Yesterday was also my birthday.  My family treated me well and I
loved spending the day with them.

Love these two that made me a Mom.

Best part of my day.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.  It's truly the hardest job but the most rewarding.
Thanks for not quitting on me, Mom.  Love you so much!

mother's day tea 2013

I had a sweet time at Hunter's Mother's Day tea yesterday.  The kids were all so confused excited about having their moms come to school with them for a bit.  Hunter was so pumped he was sticking his tongue out in every picture!  Such the charmer.

We made a craft together and had snacks.

This is the craft that Hunter gave me at school.
He made "all that a 2 year old could make" and it
turned out so precious.  He was so proud giving
it to me.  I love it.

After I left the brunch, I was running errands and I got a message that a friend from college
put her 2 year old down for a nap on Monday and the little girl never woke up.  My friend, Laura, also has a 3 year old son and a week old baby girl.  This family is living a nightmare right now.  I have never wanted to hug my kids and hold them as tight as I do this week.  I have been praying for peace and comfort that only HE can bring them.  I know from my sister that this is going to be a long road of grieving and I just hurt for them.  If you read this, please join me in praying for them.  I know my own kids are in HIS hands and HE loves them more than I do.  That makes this Mother's Day even more special.

We had some family it town this weekend and we had a blast.  My kids LOVE these girls and rightly so - they are pretty sweet.  I felt like I had two live-in babysitters all weekend.  The weather was gorgeous and we spent lots of time outside.  Can't wait until cousin camp 2013 to see them again!
