northpark mall

Garrett and Zach playing in the balls. Abby wanted no part of this duo.

Abby handing Garrett a ball...very carefully.  And yes, she has on Razorback pants.

This morning, we headed to Northpark to have the kid's pictures taken with the live bunnies.  My sister-in-law and her son Garrett came in from Longview for the day.  We had such a fun time.  Abby was all about the bunnies until they put them in her lap and she promptly said "bye bye".  We did get a few decent pics, but the best part was watching Zach as he tried to pick up a live bunny and throw it.  He did manage to throw an Easter egg at the photographer.  We ate lunch and came home for some play time with all 3 cousins.  So fun!  Thanks, Meredith, for making the drive today.  We had a great time!

the wild man is here

Abby's cousin, Zach is here to visit!  My mom, sister and Zach are in Dallas for a few days to play.  Abby and Zach are 9 weeks apart and are as different as night and day.  They are hilarious together, but love different things.  Abby loves to dance (especially with Elmo) and tried to get Zach to dance with her.  He was having no part of it, but he does and will throw any and everything he can get his hands on.  He is going to have to be careful when his baby SISTER arrives in August!  We are having a great time and I am sure many more hilarious moments and stories are to follow.

18 months old

Today is Abner's 18 month old birthday!  A whole year and a half.  Unreal.  I truly can't believe that much time has gone by since September 18, 2007.

Abby and I had a great day celebrating today!  Actually, we spent most of the day outside.  We went to the park, took a walk around the neighborhood and had some friends over this morning to play.

Abby is all over the place these days.  She talks all the time.  Currently, she loves all the Sesame Street characters and can name them all.   Abby loves books, loves to dance, and is really into belly buttons....if you will sit long enough, she will show you where yours is.    She is not a real social bug.  She gets nervous around a lot of people and we are constantly working on that.  She still takes extremely short naps during the day.  She takes one nap that is about 45 min. long.  It makes for a LONG day. I am not gonna lie.  However, she sleeps great at night and goes down when the sun is still up!  Abs is addicted to her "pappy" and bunny that she sleeps with.

Her smile melts my heart and her fits sometimes make me want to cry myself.  Abby seems to learn something new every day and it seems I am learning too.  I never thought that being a mom would be a difficult thing for me.  I taught some seriously disturbed kids  (I mean really crazy kids) and I didn't think anything would ever be as hard as what I dealt with in the classroom.  I was so wrong.  I love Abby more than anything and wouldn't trade her for the entire world, but it is a constant struggle for me.  Each day brings its ups and downs.  Some days bring tears.  Most days bring smiles.  And at the end of the day, I wouldn't trade it for anything.  She is my joy and my precious little one.  She is MINE and I love her with all my heart.

just funny

trip to houston

We had a fun, busy weekend in Houston.  The weather was cold and rainy, but Abby had a great time hunting easter eggs in the house, playing on the computer with Mimi, and seeing all of her Houston cousins.  Bo and I had a great time at the rehearsal dinner on Friday night and at the wedding on Saturday night.  It was fun to have two date nights with my handsome man!

abby's first "car date"

Abby has a good friend, Reid, that lives in our neighborhood.  One day a couple of weeks ago, Reid's mom and I took the kids on a walk to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather.  As you can see, Abby did not enjoy her first wagon ride.  She did, however, love walking along side of the wagon as we strolled the neighborhood.  Maybe next time she will ride with you Reid!

pitiful

Abby has been sick the last 2 days.  Tuesday night, we woke up to her throwing up in her bed around midnight.  It was the first time that had happened and it was not fun.  All day Wednesday, she ran 103 fever and slept most of the day. When she wasn't sleeping, she was on the couch with me watching Dora or Sesame Street.  Today, she was much better.  She ate a little and the fever went down.  Without much food, she didn't have any energy so today was a pj day too!  I hate that Abby has felt so bad, but I have loved snuggling on the couch with my baby!
