my amazing sister

http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/2013/10/testimony-tuesday-meet-katie.html

My sister was able to share her testimony on a friend's blog today.  Go check it out.  Grab a tissue.   I was crying the ugly cry when I read it...and I know the story.  Love you, sis.

cars, field trips and a barre class

Hunter has been obsessed with his cars lately.  We take them everywhere with us.
They come in handy in the carpool line.

Abby went on her first kinder field trip this week to the zoo.
She had a great time and it was a beautiful day for it!

I tried my first barre class yesterday.  My abs are so sore it hurst to cough, sneeze or really
even take in deep breaths.  It was fun to try something different.

The first 9 weeks of school are over.  Cool weather is here (for the most part) and time is flying.  Christmas is two months from today and I know it will be here before I know it.   Our weekends are full of fun things to do and I am just a happy girl.  My favorite time of year in full swing.   TGIF!

fall is here and I LOVE IT

The cool weather has arrived and there are many fun things going on.  It's great!
On Friday, the kids got to take their picture with the school mascot.
Hunter also wanted his with the cheerleaders.  : )

While Abby was at school, Hunter and I were able to sneak away and
hit the state fair with my brother and his family.  SO FUN!
Hunter could have stayed a week.  He picked the giant ferris
wheel to ride first.  It's huge...and scary.  H loved it.

Our neighborhood has a fall carnival every year and it is great fun as well.
We went on a hay ride, the kids had their faces painted, bounced in the bounce house,
made balloon animals and Hunter found this football game to play with the big boys.
Hunter loved this and was right in there with them making most shots.

Such a busy, but fun time of year. I wouldn't trade any of it.  Bo's parents came up this weekend too and it was good to visit with them.  Thankful for our families and fun times together!

Love FALL!

long weekend

Abby had a mini fall break and we took full advantage of it.  On Friday we went to the arboretum with friends to enjoy the perfect weather and pumpkins.  It was tons of fun.

The arboretum has a cool new children's area.  We spent some time there.  H, of course,
found the water.  He started out just getting his feet wet.

Then he found a bucket.

Yep. Didn't take too long before he was soaking wet.

While H was playing in the water, Abby lost her third tooth!!
A friend touched it and it literally popped out of her mouth.  So funny!

Silly kids.

Sunday, Bo and I went to the Cowboys game and got to
see RG3 play.  It was hard not to clap for him, but we were in the cowboy
section wearing cowboy shirts.  : )

Monday was Columbus Day and Bo had the day off.  We took H to soccer and then lunch.
After naps we headed out to play some glow-in-the-dark putt-putt golf and arcade games.
It was a great long weekend and a nice break from rushing out the door every morning
for school.  Makes me ready for the week of Thanksgiving!  : )

6 years and pumpkins

My girl had her 6 year appointment yesterday.  She is 45 pounds and 46 inches tall.  Seems like not that long ago she was born at 6 pounds 19 inches.  The appt. was great and we are blessed to have a perfectly healthy six year old.  I don't take her health for granted.  She is about to lose her THIRD tooth and her top two teeth are loose as well.  Kinder is better and every day she gets braver.  So thankful.

Fall is officially here and I am thrilled about it!  We have a few pumpkins around
our house and the kids have decorated a few themselves.  Many fall carnivals coming
up and I can't wait.  I love this time of the year.

Happy, Happy Fall!!!

weeks are flying

I am really not sure how, but the weeks are just flying by.  Abby has been in school for six weeks and cooler weather has finally arrived in Dallas.  Hunter misses Abby during the week. It's sweet to see them play together and really interact more the older he gets.

We still manage to squeeze in some play dates.  It's been fun to have some with
a few of Hunter's friends while Abs is in school.

And this past weekend, I got some time to myself with a girlfriend.  We went to Canton, did some shopping and enjoyed a night out in Legacy.  The weather was perfect and it was great to sleep in this morning.   Always nice to get away every once in a while!   Here's to another week!!
