The fall is not complete without a trip to the pumpkin patch! We went this morning with our neighborhood playgroup and had a good time despite the mud and wind! What a beautiful time of year. Thank you Lord for this nice weather...finally!!

abby's 2 year pics

These are just a few of my favorite pictures of Abby from her 2 year photo session! My friend Courtney (anthologieimages.com) does an amazing job and did great with Abby the day of the shoot. Abby was in rare form that day. Picture day always brings out the best in us, right? She wasn't really doing much of anything. She didn't want to look at the camera, she just kept saying "cow" for some reason and pointing at some house. Anyway, so happy that Courtney was able to get some GREAT pictures! I love them and my honorary 2 year old!

another weekend trip!

Chloe and Abby

Super Woman!

The birthday boy

This past weekend, we took a trip to Houston! There were a couple of different reasons for this trip so close to our trip last weekend to Arkansas. My friend Kimberly and her daughter Chloe were visiting Houston after living in Perth, Australia for the last 8 months. They will be living in Australia for 4 years and I promised Kim that I would come to Houston to see her any time she came home. We had a good time catching up and letting the girls play together at Chuck E Cheese.
Friday night, we went to a 60s party at the Bain's church. It was a hoot! I wish I had better pictures of us all dressed up. We turned lots of heads at dinner before the party. Abby danced her heart out that night and stayed up until 9:15!
Saturday was Charlie's 3rd birthday party. He had a Superman party and it was a blast. The weather was perfect for the outside party!
Another great weekend of fun. Abby is a total ROCK STAR traveler! I love taking her places!! I hope this lasts a long time.

Abs got a little too close for me

Pappy and Abby

This past week, Abby and I headed up to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to visit my sister. We had a blast! I can't tell you how funny "Abba" and "Zachy" are together. They entertained each other the whole week! The week involved, shopping, eating, napping, feeding the ducks, visiting the neighbor's cows and a 30th surprise party for Katie! Jason had been planning this for a while and it was awesome. The party was at their house and was such a fun time with family and their close friends.

When we got ready to head back to Dallas yesterday, Abby said "Zachy coming?" She was sad to get in the car without him. Such a fun week and to top it off...the HOGS BEAT AUBURN!!

The razorback cheerleaders!

My whole family was in town this past weekend for the Arkansas Razorback and Texas A & M game at the new Cowboy's stadium! We had a BALL. The kids played and played. Abby loved having her cousins to play with. The adults loved watching all the kids play together. We all loved that the Hogs won the game!

It is such a blessing that we were able to get together and spend time as a family. Reese was missed this past weekend, I am not going to lie. I thought about her a lot and I know that the rest of us did too. However, as I told Katie, she is happy in heaven with Jesus and all our CRAZY family members that have gone ahead of us. I am jealous of that! Thank you for all of your prayers for my family and especially my sister and brother in law. Keep them up.

TWO years old

Two years old today!

Abby's first birthday

What a difference ONE year makes!! It's been a great year. We started the day with donuts in our pjs and then went to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate there! One would think (especially since she woke up at 6:00 am) that after our busy morning she would take a great nap. Well, in true Abby form, she slept 50 minutes~ Some things never change!! Happy Birthday Abby!! We love you so much and are so thankful that God blessed our family with YOU.

birthday week

"I'm SO BIG!"

Bunny and Pappy bought me my very own cake!

My parents came in town last weekend, and thus began Abby's birthday week! She accidentally found a Dora 3 wheeler that Bo and I had for her and so she got that last Saturday. Too bad it rained ALL weekend long! No worries however...she rides it all around the house. Sunday, my parents gave her gifts as well. Monday, we had playgroup at our house and some of Abby's friends came to help celebrate. She got lots of fun new things that day too. Tomorrow, I am taking some cookies, plates and napkins up to school for them to celebrate there. Friday is her ACTUAL birthday and then Saturday we will be celebrating with Bo's family! Nuts. This girl is way too spoiled this week and loving every minute of it. I do too! I LOVE birthdays!!!! Happy Birthday Week to my precious almost 2 year old!! I ADORE YOU!!!

meeting elmo

Last Friday, we went (with the rest of Dallas) to meet Elmo at My Gym. They had an Open House and you could come meet Elmo, let your kid play and see how you liked the place. Well, if there weren't so many people in that one little room it would have been much easier to play around and enjoy it! Abby did better than I expected and even though she made me get in the picture with her, she did sit in Elmo's lap and has talked about it ever since. She had a great time!

happy labor day!

Happy Labor Day!  After being sick for a week with a fever virus, Abby broke out in a horrible rash last Friday.  We stayed home most of the weekend and swam, ate and tried to come up with different ways to entertain Abby.  We have enjoyed our quiet weekend and will be ready for school tomorrow!!!  I asked Abby if she was ready to go back to school and she gave me a quick "no".  I am sure she will come up with some way to get sick tonight!

are you kidding me?

Abby woke up from her nap yesterday with a 103 temp.  Not sure what is going on, but no MDO for her today! She is pretty pitiful, but we still don't know what's going on.  Fever is still there this morning, but it's much lower.  I think she just knew she was going back to school today and forced a fever on herself.  Is that possible?

first day of school

Well....Abby was so excited this morning to start her day with donuts and getting to carry her new backpack full of new things!  She honestly had no clue what was about to happen to her and that was the hardest part for me.  She was laughing and thought it was great walking in with Madeline - in to the building where we have gone to play all summer .  That's when she started seeing other children being dropped off at rooms and some were crying.

Then the panic set in.

I carried her to her room and then the teacher reached out for her.  "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" came this scream out of her mouth as she wrapped both arms tightly around my neck.  The teacher was trying to pull her off and I was trying to get her claws off of my shirt and hair!  As I walked off, I touched my head and a huge chunk of hair fell into my hands!  Oh my.  It was terrible, I am not going to lie.  I just left, got in my car, and went to Target.  I kept busy the whole 5 long hours, but we both survived.  She didn't eat one thing and didn't sleep, BUT she managed to stay on her nap mat the whole rest time (according to her teacher).  I am sure she was just too scared to move!  Bless her.  This is going to be so good for her (and for me) once we get used to it.  I am sure next week with be worse since she will know where we are going, but we will get through this stage too!
