neighborhood easter egg hunt

This morning our neighborhood had an Easter egg "hunt".  It cracked me up that they called it a hunt because when we drove up, all you saw was at least 1,000 eggs filled with candy just thrown on the ground!  It was so precious.  There was an Easter bunny there which Abby avoided at all costs, some juice and cookies.   The kids just hung around until the bell rang at 10:00 for them to start picking up the eggs and filling the baskets.  Abby was much more excited about a little girl with an Elmo basket and kept wanting to follow her around instead of picking up eggs.  (You can see the little girl in the 3rd picture...hilarious!)  She ended up with 4 eggs because they were gone in about 15 seconds.  So fun!  She loved opening them up and seeing what was inside.   She tore into a hershey's kiss and got a sticker and 2 candy bracelets.   It was the first of many egg hunts this week!

We were sad to miss it! It's always a fun experience, but funny because once they say, "Go!" the "hunt" is over in like 30 seconds!

There would have been NO egg hunting if Riley saw that Elmo basket. He probably would have thrown some elbows to get that basket, too. Love Abby's little green top. Adorable. Counting the days until our reunion! ;-)
