ft worth fair and rodeo

This past weekend the weather was gorgeous!  Bo had Monday off for MLK Day and Abs was out of school so we headed out to the Ft. Worth rodeo for the day.  It was so much fun!
I didn't know what to expect but there were great rides, "carnie" food, all kind of animals
to see and games to take our money play.  A perfect day!

Hunter wasn't scared to ride anything....Abby watched him quite a bit.

Then, out of the blue, she wanted to do this...all alone. She got her mat, walked up there
and the guy gave her quite a push to send her down.  She loved it!

Oh the games.  We came home with a shark and a whale.  Just what we needed.

On the way home....Mission accomplished!  : )

doesn't feel like January

We have been enjoying some time outside this week.  I hate the cedar in the air, but
I love these cooler mornings and gorgeous afternoons.
It's been too nice to not get out and play.

Beautiful!

Fun at Bunny and Pappys!

A night at the Capitol to see the lights.

Christmas Eve service

Boy fun on Christmas morning.

Beautiful sunset

We got home and the kids were worn out!!

We spent the weekend at a friend's ranch.  Bo went hunting
for the first time and loved it!

On New Year's Eve, Abby got her ears pierced!  She was so excited.
She also knocked out her front tooth the day before.  It was a big couple of days.
She looks 10 in this picture.   I don't like it.

a few quick favorites from the break....

3rd annual Delt dinner.  These friends have been around for about 16 years.
Another great night together.

Parachuting Santa.  We love this tradition as well.
It was cold, but well worth it.

Christmas in Arkansas.   My parents just built a new house.  This is their view.
I could sit and look at this all day long.

Hunter helping Bunny make a Happy Birthday Jesus cake.

Mom and Dad had all sorts of toys for the kids to play with.

Another Christmas break has come and gone.  We were out of town for a week and home for a week.  We were busy and we were lazy.  We caught up with friends we haven't seen in a while and made memories with old friends too.  We truly had a great break!

However, tomorrow is Monday and we are back to our routine.  I am looking forward to it.  So much so that Abby's backpack is ready and her lunch is packed.  Here we go!

Happy 2014!!!!

not even sure where to begin....

I am so far behind on blogging.  Not that anyone really cares or reads blogs much anymore but this is my scrapbook.  ANYWAY.....I need to post about our 3rd annual delt dinner, parachuting Santa, Christmas in Arkansas and a weekend at the ranch but so many pictures and so little time right now.
Christmas has exploded in my house and I have just finished putting decorations up and about to go through toys and clean out.  So......for now one of my faves.

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!!!

funny random weekend pics

We had a busy weekend but it was a blast!

On Friday, Hunter was playing with the manger scene and I heard him saying "Joseph?"
I looked over and saw that Spiderman was now playing the role of Joseph.
Not sure about Jake, Izzy and the cars, but this made me laugh.

Saturday morning we took the kids snow tubing at the Gaylord.
So fun!

After the North Pole Express and dinner we stopped by the
neighborhood Christmas event and the kids took their picture with Santa.

Tis the season for Christmas parties!  We had our Life Group
dinner and then a Favorite Things Party after that on Sunday night.
So blessed to be surrounded by neighborhood friends!!

Looking forward to the last week of parties, gift exchanges and Christmas events!

north pole express 2013 - a 5 year tradition

Five years ago, we signed up to ride the North Pole Express with our friends, the Browns.  Well, five years, two children and some more friends later, we are still loving this tradition every December together.

I was asked at dinner what we were going to do once our kids outgrow this tradition.
I honestly have no clue, but I am sure we will come up with something.  For now, I am loving
our December traditions and as I look back at 2009 N.P.E. pictures can't believe how
fast time goes.

Christmas - Part 1

We escaped the Dallas ice storm and spent the weekend in Houston for part 1 of Christmas 2014.
Bo's mom starts decorating for Christmas in October.  Her whole house is covered in Christmas but this tree is my favorite.  The picture doesn't even do it justice.

Abs and Papa

Breakfast with Santa.  A Bain tradition for the last 10 years.
This is the best Santa I have ever seen.  Sweet man too.

Group cousin hug with the big man.

This picture is my favorite from the whole weekend.
Priceless.

Three generations.

After the breakfast, we came home and made the kids WAIT until the
BAYLOR game was at halftime to open a few presents.
We had a room full of Baylor alum watching the game together.  It was a great game!!

We made it back to Dallas on Sunday with no problems at all.  We had prepared ourselves for
a long drive but it only took us about 20 min longer than normal.  Thankful for a safe trip!

Schools are cancelled today.  We all slept in and the kids are happy playing with new toys.
Thankful for this slow day at home after a busy weekend!
