cousin camp 2013 - just a few of my favorites

We just got back from the fifth annual cousin camp in Houston.  Everyone had a great time and Mimi outdid herself once again.  We started the weekend off with a birthday party for Papa.
He turned 70 on Friday!

Every morning the kids came down to a new breakfast set up.  Saturday was Circus Day.

Sunday was a fun day of swimming at Papa and Mimi's awesome club pool!
The kids woke up to all sorts of water toys and goldfish.

Our schedule

Sunday evening was family picture time.  The photographer managed to get
some amazing pics.  Not sure how she did it with all of us!

Sno cone time!

Monday we had a birthday party for all of the kids at Pump It Up!  We had the whole place to ourselves and the kids even got to jump in a glow-in-the-dark room!  It was tons of fun.
We had pizza and each child got a bday present and we sang "Happy Birthday"to each child.

Cousin Camp is one of those things that my kids love every summer.  It is a fun time for all the cousins to get together and is getting better and better as the kids get older.  Fun memories that we all will remember for a life time!  Thanks, Mimi and Papa for a great time!

playing in the rain

No.  I did not dress them this way but they do LOVE these shirts (thanks, Vaune)
and wear them often.

About the rain.  They have been begging me to let them play in the
rain so yesterday I did just that.
They lasted about 10 min (maybe 5) and said they were "freezing"
and came inside to jump in a
hot bath.

So there ya go.  They got it out of their system.

sno cones, crazies and popsicles

Only SIX more weeks until school starts!!

We are busy trying to get in all of our playdates,
sno cone trips, summer outings, and just having crazy time at home.

This one is a NUT.

This pic is for my dad.  He loves his green bus!

Last night our neighbors hosted a "Meet the Neighbors" party and it was a good time.
I am a bit afraid of these faces (and Abby's hip) but oh well.

Happy Monday!

the good life

After a week of both kids being sick, it feels good to get out and have things back to "normal".

It's been a good week!  My mom and her friend are in town for the Nordstrom sale.  I tried to hang with those two today and I just can't do it.  They are MACHINES and they are still shopping as I sit here and sip my wine type.  They are fun though and make me laugh like no one can.  Great week.

happy(?) 4th of july week

Happy Friday!

It's been quite the week around here.  Abby came down with strep throat on Tuesday and has been running fever ever since.  Needless to say....we are a little stir crazy around here!

H was watching the bird man get the birds out of our chimney on Tuesday.
Pretty much the highlight.of.the.week.

Sweet girl missed the neighborhood 4th of July party but I told her
she could stay up to watch fireworks since you can see them from our house.

She snoozed before they started but then watched a few.
Then politely asked to go to bed.

Here's hoping the weekend looks up around here!

weekend

We have been doing some swimming this week!
The kids love the pool and then we come home and they crash.
Works out great for everyone.  : )

On Saturday night we celebrated Rosey's bday.
Bo had found a new meat shop he is in love with and we had
a great meal, perfect company and Hunter couldn't wait to
sing and help him blow out his candles.

We have a fun 4th of July week planned!  I can't believe it's already here.
Summer is flying!

race to remember 2013

This past weekend we went to Little Rock to participate in the Race To Remember.  I did this race last year and knew this year I wanted my whole family to participate with me to be part of Team Reese!

"Families who lose children rarely, if ever, get at opportunity to publicly recognize their baby. race to remember gives them a chance to join together for a special occasion in memory of that special child."

My parents with six of their nine grandchildren.

Balloon release before the race.  The sky was full of pink and blue balloons.

We took a pic like this last year....now it's our little tradition. : )

All of Team Reese!!!

Time for some cousin time.  These two were just having a little conversation
and watching a video on the computer.  Funny kids.

These two are as opposite and night and day but man, do they love each other.

Had a great weekend in LR with family and seeing friends as well.  I love going "home".
I love my family.  I am one lucky girl.

fun summer activity

I got this idea from a friend and it was perfect for my kids!  It was easy for this non-crafty mom to put together and the kids worked on it for over an hour!  Perfect for a summer day.

Take some of the kids little toys and freeze them in water.
I did two layers of toys so I froze one layer and then froze the second layer after that.

After the toys are frozen let the kids try to get the toys out of the ice!
Mine just used plastic tools they had and wooden spoons from the kitchen.

They seriously worked on this for a little over an hour!  We did it in the morning so it wasn't so hot out but the heat still "helped" melt the ice a bit for them.

They keep asking to do this again!  I am already freezing new toys they collected for me!
Go try it!  : )

dance recital

We had a busy weekend!  Abby had her dance recital on Saturday afternoon. It was precious and she did a great job!  The best part of the weekend was that all four of her grandparents came in town to see her and it was perfect timing for Father's Day!!

"Funkytown"

"I Got No Strings"

Mimi and Papa came from Houston

Bunny and Pappy came from Arkansas

We had a great time celebrating Father's Day yesterday with our parents.
After church we headed to brunch and then Bo and his dad played some golf together.

My precious Daddy with the kids.

Hunter's shirt was a surprise for his Daddy!

Sweet Papa.  This man has been through a lot and you would never know it.

And...THIS man is just amazing.  He is hard working, humble, honest and most loyal.  He is the BEST daddy for our two kids.  I am so thrilled to have the joy and honor of rearing these kids "in the way they should go" with B.  Wouldn't want to do it with anyone else.  Your kids and I love you BIG.

slow start to summer

It's been a slow start to our summer.  We have been at home playing, crafting and watching movies quite a bit and it's actually been really nice.  Of course we have spent some time outside but have enjoyed not really having a schedule or having to be anywhere we didn't want to go.

This week the weather is drastically warming up and  Abby started an art camp today.  She loved it and I loved some alone time with this little guy.  Loving summer so far!

cousins and recital pics

We started the week with Daddy home on Monday for Memorial Day and then when he headed back to work on Tuesday we had these rug-rats come for a quick visit!  My brother, his wife and their kids were in town for some fun in Dallas.  We loved seeing them and the kids had a great time playing and playing and playing.  Today marks ONE YEAR for David's Gotcha Day.  We love you, David and can't imagine our family without you in it!!

Today Abby had her dance recital pictures.  The recital isn't for a couple of weeks but
she got all dressed up complete with hair and make up for her pics.

How does she look SO BIG???

Already June 1st!  Loving summer and no schedule so far!
