This morning we went to Northpark with some friends for a special Valentine's Day story time. It was a lot of fun and the kids loved it. We then played in the Disney Store, played by the fountains, saw the ducks and turtles and ate lunch. Good times at NP mall!

Grayson gave Abby a special valentine with stickers. She loved it. So precious. She handed out stickers to everyone and was thrilled. She loves Grayson and his brother Cullen. Sweet friends. It's beginning to look alot like Valentine's Day!!

So far so good on my New Year's Goal. Love it. I am making a 365 Shutterfly book and I finished the month of January today. I am so excited! Still working on the class thing. Would love to be getting more sleep first! : )

Every morning at 7:00 we hear Abby jumping out of her bed. You see, we have a clock in her room and she can't come downstairs until the clock says 7. She has told us before that "6 is too long" but that is tough. She is fine. Anyway....Hunter is ALWAYS up and by then sick of playing with us. So when he hears her feet hit the floor above us he goes crawling as fast as he can to the bottom of the steps. Abby appears a few seconds later and he just BEAMS and laughs. It is so precious. Every.single.morning. I love it. She beams too and greets him first before speaking to me! Wouldn't change it for the world.

We have had a great week this week just playing. We have been to the park every day this week. That is crazy to me. It's the end of Jan. and beginning of Feb. and we are OUTSIDE every day. I love it...don't get me wrong, but I really feel like it is April and not winter.

Hunter found a new place to play. I love that he sits there and rolls cups around while I cook dinner. It cracks me up. Abby goes around picking them up and he messes them up all over again. She will say, "BOYS"! Amen Abby...just wait!

We had a pretty low key day for Hunter's first birthday. He had tubes put in his ears on Friday so we weren't 100% sure how the weekend would go.

That is a total lie. We were 99.9% sure there would be no issue at all or something that a little motrin couldn't fix. The truth is, I just STINK at parties! I am not good at the decorating, crafting and ideas for parties. They stress me out to be honest, so I stick with simple. I am GREAT at simple and since Bo and I LOVE hosting people at our house for dinner that is just what we did. Small and simple, but celebrating my boy. It was perfect.

Hunter did great on Friday. I am just praying that these tubes do help clear up his ears and he isn't hurting anymore. I can't believe he is ONE. Where did the year go? He is just as precious and happy as can be. He still smiles all the time and ADORES his big sis. He eats everything in sight...everything in sight. He takes 2 naps a day. One is usually short and the other one is a bit longer. He goes to bed about 7 and sleeps until 6. He loves bath time, being outside and running errands. He is a social bug and smiles and waves at everyone he sees. He still has 6 teeth. He doesn't talk much except for an occasional da-da. He is still crawling around everywhere and pulling up on everything but not walking yet. He has found the cabinets in the kitchen and loves to open and shut them. Hunter is a JOY and I am so blessed he is MINE! Happy Birthday to my precious Hunt-dog. We love you so much!!

It's been a good week so far around here! Hunter has been feeling great and sleeping much better. Tuesday we had the carpets cleaned so that is why the chair is up on our bed. Abby climbed up there and announced that she was the queen. Really? Today it's been rainy, but we headed out to library story time and lunch with friends. This has been a tradition since the kids were LITTLE. The big ones have just about outgrown it, but the little ones seems to like it now. Funny to think we started this when our "big kids" were the same age as the "little ones". Happy Wednesday!!

Hunter woke up a different kid on Friday. We were so thankful. The fever was totally gone, he was sleeping much better and he was happy. It was great. We still laid low most of the day and let him get caught up on some much needed sleep. The weather was gorgeous so we went on walks and played in the back yard. Abby is not used to being home as much as we were this past week. She did a great job playing, coloring, painting and we played lots of games together. She got bored Friday night and was hiding in the toy basket. Goof.

Saturday after naps, we headed over to the Browns to celebrate Hollie's bday. It had also been Wes D's bday and Karlie and Hunter's are this week. Lots of birthdays in January to celebrate! We had fun with the gang as always. We have had a low key Sunday and a busy week begins tomorrow! Lots going on and we are ready now that my boy is well.

We have had a long week here. Hunter has been sick since Tuesday with another ear infection. This one was the worst by far. I honestly think he has another bug on top of the infection because he has been running a constant fever since Tuesday, not sleeping hardly at all, random throwing up and just not happy at all. Of course, who would be? My heart has been breaking for him! After a visit to the ENT yesterday, she recommended tubes and we are 100% on board! Looks like it will be next Friday and I am ready. I am ready for my sweet boy to feel better and to know what it feels like to have ears that don't hurt. I love that it's the day before his birthday. Could be the best bday gift ever! : )

We had a pretty laid back weekend. We went to the gym on Sat. morning and church on Sunday morning. We watched some football and LOVED having Daddy home on Monday. Hunter wasn't too happy this past weekend nor did he sleep much AT.ALL. No fever, no runny nose...maybe teeth? Well, after a few days of not being my sweet Hunter, I called the doctor at 3:15 on Monday and they saw him that afternoon to check his ears. Yep. Another ear infection. This makes 6 since the last week of October. A bit much, I think? I just feel so sorry for him. He is SO stinking sweet and his ears have just been hurting for too long. Medicine seems to just mask the problem for a few days. So, I think we are headed to an ENT to look at tubes soon. I just pray they work and maybe, just maybe my sweet boy will start to sleep!! Will see.

Well, happy Friday! We had a good, busy week but so happy that a long weekend is here! The pictures from the past few days make me laugh. The one of Abby and her sweet friend Grayson I just love. He is precious and ADORES Abby. They are so funny together and we don't see him often enough. The second picture makes me laugh out loud! This is how Bo and I go to bed every night. I like a dark, quiet room and he likes to go to sleep with a movie on. So...he watches a movie while I go to sleep. Cracks me up and he will KILL me for putting this picture on my blog. Oh well. It's Friday. Today, H took terrible naps and he was up for the day at 5:30. So when I brought him down at 6, I fed him and them dumped his basket of toys over so he could play. He was quite content sitting there for a while until everyone else was up and moving. Hope you have a super MLK weekend!

Friday night the Arkansas Razorbacks played Kansas State in the 2012 Cotton Bowl. As soon as we found out that the Hogs would play in Dallas, my whole fam said they were in! We had a blast and the game was lots of fun. Yes, I did go to Baylor and yes, I do love the Bears. I will always support them, cheer for them and have been so proud of them this year! I admire RG3 and couldn't be happier for him. However, I am an Arkansas girl at heart and always will be. Can't deny it. Love my Hogs. WPS!

I try not to make New Year's Resolutions but this year I wanted to have a goal for myself that I knew I could meet. I would like to say I will lose 15 pounds this year, but that isn't going to happen, so I am trying something that I know I can do. It will be a bit of a challenge, but I am willing to take it and I know I can do it.

My goal for the year 2012 is to take at least one picture a day. It won't always be of my kids (don't worry) and some days I will take tons more than just one. However, one a day is all I am challenging myself to take. It can be of anything or anyone. I am also going to try and find a basic course in photography that will teach me how to take better pictures. Hopefully as the year goes on and I look back at the pictures I took in Jan, I will have much better pictures later in the year.

So..there ya go. That is my goal for 2012. One of them at least. I would also like to take more time to STOP and just live in the moment and not the next week. I don't know what each day holds and I want to take every day and make 2012 a great year for my family! Happy New Year!

I say it EVERY month, but how in the WORLD is Hunter 11 months already? Time has flown and it seems to keep getting faster.

Hunter is precious. He has had some more ear trouble and we have become regulars at the dr.'s office. I mean like once a week regulars. However, his ears really don't seem to affect his mood too much, thank goodness for that. Sleep is still an issue and that is just annoying at this point. He is a happy-go-lucky boy and is really content most of the time. He still loves getting out and about and will go to most anyone. He is eating lots of finger foods now and that is FABULOUS! It takes in forever to eat anything, so he sits in his high chair and eats a lot during the day! Some will read this and say "no wonder your kids is so big", BUT I cut up a strawberry and it takes him 10 min to eat that. He is just slow.

He is crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything. Especially my LEG at 5:00 when it's time to get dinner started. So....mommy puts him back in his high chair and he eats. Again!

Hunter, we love you so much and so happy that we got to celebrate your first Christmas with our family. You are a blessing to us and we can't believe we will be celebrating your FIRST birthday SOON!

Everyone had fun jumping

On Christmas Eve, we headed to church. My mom stayed home with the two youngest because there wasn't a nursery. It was a sweet time with Abby. She loved it and was just worshipping away....hands in the air and all. So funny. We came home, ate, put the kids to bed and got ready for the night. It didn't take us too long to get things set up and ready to go!

Christmas Day was a fun one! Before we went downstairs to see what Santa had left, we sang Happy Birthday to Jesus. Abby was excited to find some things she had asked for and we spent the day enjoying new things and family.

We had a great December! We were super busy and made it to Houston the first weekend and then to LR for almost a full week. The kids did great traveling and I tried to make the most of all of the Christmas activities here at home. I think we all had a blast and Hunter got to celebrate his first Christmas. Even though we LOVE us some Santa, we tried to keep the focus on the birth of Jesus. After all, that IS the whole reason for this season. Merry Christmas 2011!

We are back from a week in Arkansas and we are tired! It was a BLAST and so fun to see all of the cousins together. I know my parents are exhausted and happy to have their quiet house back! The kids did GREAT playing together.

We arrived on Tuesday and my brother and his crew were already there. On Wed. my sister arrived and my mom threw a party for all of her friends so that they could all come by and see us and the kids. It was so much fun. Each one of those ladies holds a special place in my heart and I was so thrilled to see them all at once! We did a lot of hanging out, running around, eating and playing. There are WAY too many pictures for one post, so I will post Christmas Eve and Christmas Day pictures tomorrow. A FUN week at HOME and a great time with my crazy family!

We had another fun, busy weekend! Friday was our neighborhood Christmas party for the kids. We joined this play group when Abby was 6 months old. These kids are some of her best buds and their moms are pretty special to me as well. Didn't take too many pictures at this one! Loved the snowmen smores idea, however!

Saturday we went to a birthday party and then to Prestonwood's family event that they have every year. There are 6 stations set up. They have face painting, cookie decorating, a live nativity, pictures with Santa, a craft and a story is told by Mrs. Claus. After you complete each station, they mark your card and at the end you are given a free gift. The gift is a whole nativity set. What a blessing that church is!

That night, the Dallas Baylor gang met at III Forks for a nice dinner together. We had our own room and we had a ball. It was nice to get away from the kids for a bit and enjoy some adult time. We have a Christmas party every year with kids, but now that we all have at least two kids it gets a bit crazy. This was way more fun for this year and it wouldn't surprise me if we made it a tradition. It is so neat that we are so far out of college and still remain so close. Love each of these friends and love that our kids are growing up together as well!

Ok. So this is my parent's Christmas card they are sending out this year. It cracks me up for MANY reasons.

1 - Most of us look like rag-a-muffins. We had been to the Arkansas/Texas A & M football game earlier that day and most of us had changed clothes already. Also, no one was there to take the picture. It was sitting on the counter on a timer. Cheese!

2 - You get a great shot of the BACK of Hunter and Colson's heads. I guess no one needs to see their face anyway or maybe Mom and Dad think they are ugly?

3 - Abby has a silly grin on her face as she is staring at Allie and not the camera. Again, cheese!

4 - Mom and Dad aren't even in the picture!

5 - Bo looks short and he is FAR from being short. He usually is towering over everyone in our pictures together so I think he looks funny. Sorry dear.

HOWEVER,

As I look at this card I also see a dove. A dove that represents Reese and I love that. I love that my dad has a precious, sensitive heart and last year also put the dove on the White family Christmas card. I love that the dove is there. I love that Reese is in heaven watching over us every day like the dove is above Katie and Jason's head. Reese is very much a part of our family and always will be. We all love her and miss her. Not a day goes by that she doesn't cross my mind. I know it never will.

I love my family. All of them. I am blessed and will never take for granted how much each one of them mean to me. We are the Griswolds. I love it. Merry Christmas from the WHITE family!

Last year, I found out about a fun event in Frisco and we knew we had to go again this year! Santa and his elves parachute out of airplanes and land right in front of the mass of people surrounding him. Abby remembered this as well from last year and was so excited about going again. Right on time (5:15) we looked up and the first elf jumped, the second elf jumped and then Santa himself jumped out of the airplane right over our heads! So fun to see Santa flying in the air and landing right in front of us! As soon as he landed, we headed over to Babes Chicken house for dinner. LOVE that place!! We had our own little "room" and it was perfect for us. We ended the night with the Hokey Pokey in the middle of the restaurant....what could be better? FUN Saturday filled with Christmas memories! : )

This was our third year to ride the Polar Express! Abby talks about it all year long and it never disappoints. Once you arrive, there is a show to see and then you board the train for the ride. The conductor comes through punching the children's tickets and then Santa comes and gives each child a bell. He even gave Hunter one and he loves it. We sing Christmas songs and just have a great time together. Next up....Santa and his elves parachute out of airplanes tonight. Stay tuned!

Have I said before how much I LOVE this time of year??? There are so many fun things to do to get in the Christmas spirit and spend quality time together as a family!!! Who cares if Hunter sits in his high chair and eats Puffs...he is participating! : )

We (Bo) made our gingerbread house with Abby and she loved every second. Her favorite part was eating the left over icing. Each night on ABC Family they show a Christmas movie. Some are age appropriate for Abs and others aren't, but one night we watched one and she wanted to "cuddle with Hunter by the fire". He actually sat there a bit, but then was off getting into something else! LOVE these two!!

Last night was the annual Christmas tree lighting in our neighborhood. Despite the temps being in the low 30s (with wind chills in the 20s) we had a blast! The kids saw Santa and his reindeer, bounced in bounce houses, played in the snow and went down the snow slides. Our local art shop had free face painting and allowed the kids to make a really neat ornament for the tree! It was FREEZING, but we would go out for a bit and then hop in the donut/coffee shop for a while and the art shop was warm as well. We didn't stay for the actual tree lighting, but on the way home, Abby was able to see some Christmas lights and she was just tickled! Such a fun night with neighbors and friends!

This past weekend was our Christmas in Houston! We had a ball with the whole family there. Saturday was the annual Breakfast with Santa and this was our third year to go. It was just as fun as always. The Santa that comes to this breakfast is just amazing. He has this voice that you could sit and listen to all day long. He sings to the crowd and takes a lot of time with each child talking to them. Abby was determined not to sit on his lap, but she eventually warmed up. She wouldn't look him in the eye, but did tell him what she wanted from Santa. Hunter wasn't too sure about this man in a fluffy red suit, but didn't really care either way!

After the breakfast the kids open a few gifts. The cousins exchange gifts with each other and each take a turn opening the gift. They are also given their stocking from Mimi and Papa filled with lots of fun little things they each love. The adults get to have some fun too with a white elephant gift exchange that never disappoints! This year was no different. Hilarious.

I just love this time of year. So many FUN things to do and spending time with family makes it so much better! We started off the month of December right and look forward to the next few weeks as well!

Where in the world did the last 10 months go? Before I know it Christmas will be over, January will be here and Hunter will be ONE. That is a crazy thought!

Hunter is still sweet and happy as always. He is very content and loves to be out and about. Still not sleeping that great, but that is the only real thing I can complain about. I try to be thankful for everything, but starting every day THAT early (about 5) is difficult. We have decided to make him stay in his bed until 6, so I turn the monitor off and set my alarm for 6 and then get him up to start the day! Hunter is crawling around everywhere and pulling up on everything! He loves to stand up. You can tell he is so proud of himself when he does that. He has had a few ear infections this past month but as of yesterday we are clear! I pray it stays that way. Hunter is a perfect addition and COMPLETION to our family! Love this boy more than words can say!

What a fun thanksgiving this was! Our dear friends, the Lohrdings, came in town from Lubbock on Thursday and we had a FEAST. After we ate we headed to the park to burn off some calories!

Friday we put up the Christmas tree, ate some more and watched some HOG football. The Hogs didn't win the game, but they did great and I guess it's ok when you lose to the #1 ranked team in college football!

Saturday was the big Baylor/Tech game and we had a fun crew that joined us at Jerry World to cheer on the bears. The bears won and it was tons of fun celebrating that win!

I look back at where our family was this time last year. I was 7 months pregnant and trying to do my best to prepare Abby for what lied ahead. I smile as I think about the last 10 months and how Hunter has completed our family. I laugh when I think about how scared I was that Abby was going to be a nightmare and how she could not have proved me more wrong. I am so thankful for many things, but this year I am most thankful for my kids and precious husband who walks through every day with me. Every EARLY morning and every step he is with me. I am thankful to the LORD for what HE has done this past year and our many, many blessings. He is the reason for all of it and to HIM be the glory!

The Bain girls took a quick weekend trip to Las Vegas to celebrate my MIL's bday. She had never been before and Lacy came up with the idea to surprise her with a trip there. We arrived on Friday afternoon and saw The Jersey Boys that night. Saturday, we shopped and walked around seeing the strip and sights in Vegas. We went to the Garth Brooks concert that night. I did not know what to expect, but it was amazing. It was an intimate setting and he came out in jeans and a baseball cap with just his guitar. He told his story of the music that inspired him as he grew up. It was just great.

We didn't do too much gambling, but I did win $55 on the Razorback win against South Carolina. I bet $50 and got $55 back. FUN!!! It was a fun weekend with the girls and I think Mimi enjoyed Vegas!

Yesterday was the neighborhood play group 3rd Annual Halloween party. We had a ball! The kids danced, decorated cookies, did arts and crafts, bounced in bounce houses and ate pizza for lunch. Abby met these friends when they were all around 6 months old. They are very special friends and hopefully will be life long friends as well. Happy Halloween 2011!

Hunter is NINE months old today. He is such a JOY and happy all of the time....even at 5 a.m! He has 2 teeth on the bottom and 4 are coming in on the top right now. He is eating all the time (as you can tell!) and can drink out of his sippy cup. He still takes 3 naps a day. One of the three is usually an hour now so that is nice. He goes to bed between 6:30/7 but still wakes up WAY too early. We are still working on that. He is scooting all around and gets up on all fours, but won't crawl quite yet. However, if Abby has something that he wants on the floor, he can get to it quickly! Abby is still an amazing big sister. She is so precious to him and is such a HUGE help to me. Happy 9 months, Hunter!

What an amazing trip we just had to the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. About a year and a half ago we started planning this trip and it did not disappoint! There were 10 of us and we had a great time to say the least. All day we would sit out by the pool, hit the huge water slides, enjoy some great people watching (we named many new "friends"), do a little dancing, and just relax in the sun. Some swam with dolphins, some gambled (yep..table out next to the pool), and some got amazing massages. Each evening we would go to fabulous restaurants and eat ourselves silly. Then we would start all over again the next day. Doesn't sound too bad, huh?

Bo and I are so blessed to have such an amazing group of friends from Baylor. We are raising our kids together and what a joy that is to walk beside these friends as we meet those every day challenges. What a blessing they are to my life. Already planning for the next trip...spring of 2013. Will see where THAT adventure takes us!

I LOVE this time of year!!! Yesterday we went with friends to the arboretum. I love how it is full of pumpkins in the fall. So beautiful and the kids have a ball running through the houses made of pumpkins. It was a gorgeous day and my boy was all tuckered out on the way to the car!

We went to the Flower Mound pumpkin patch today with friends. We have been the past 3 years and this year was the best one yet. The kids are at the age to just go and play and had a ball together jumping in the bounce house, going on a hay ride, running around the pumpkins and finding their way through the hay maze. The weather was perfect for our picnic lunch with over cast skies and a breeze. This makes me so thrilled October is HERE and the holidays are upon us!! Happy Fall!!

The Arkansas/A & M weekend has become one of my favorite weekends of the whole year. For the past three years (and next 7) the Hogs play the Aggies in Dallas. The whole family comes and we have a BALL. It's usually the only weekend all year that we are all together. Mom and Dad were in Italy this year and they were so missed. However, we had a great time together and can't wait to fill them in on the details!!

Everyone arrived on Friday and the craziness began. The kids were thrilled to be together and RAN and RAN and RAN around this place all day. We ordered pizza for supper and the kids crashed that night. We had people sleeping all over this house! Nothing like family togetherness! Saturday, half of us were up by 6:00 (thanks, Hunter!) and the non-stop action packed day began. We left for the game about 9:30 and didn't get home until 4. WHAT.A.GAME. This game was the BEST one I have seen in a long time. It was amazing. So awesome!!! Yes, the HOGS won after coming back from a being down by a lot and not playing well at all. AMAZING. So proud. We headed home after the game and watched more football and grilled out. Again, the kids played and played and played. We just had an amazing time together.

I feel so blessed to have such a great family. I don't take it for granted. I love how close the cousins are even though we don't see each other all the time. I love how we walk through hard times together and laugh through good times together. Already looking forward to next October! However, seems as though we just might all be together for Christmas this year. Get ready Mom and Dad!

How in the world is he 8 months old? Time is going by WAY too fast. I am loving this age!!! Hunter can't crawl yet, so it's just perfect! He will sit forever and just play with toys around him. He just learned to clap and does that all.the.time. SO PRECIOUS. The past few days he has slept past 6:30, so that has been heaven. I pray that continues. He is the happiest stinkin thing ever. I could just eat him up.

Hunter has 2 teeth (the bottom front). He can sit up great. He can roll all over the place. He just learned to clap (literally yesterday). He laughs and babbles half the time and the other half he is "Mr. Serious". He is laid back and just goes with the flow. He naps wherever he is (which is great). We don't have to be home all the time. He does take short naps, but goes to bed about 6:30 and has been "sleeping in" until 6:30 or 7. YAY!

I ADORE this kid. I can't tell you how much. Abby is still a great big sister. She has just been amazing and goes WAY above and beyond. She takes care of him and "mothers" him all day long. She checks on him all the time and wants to make sure he is happy. I could not be more thrilled with the way she has grown and stepped up to the big sister roll. So amazed.

Thank you, Lord, for these 2 precious children. They aren't perfect and YES, I lose my cool some days, but they are perfect for ME and I love them both more than I ever thought possible.

Oh soccer! Back in the early summer I was asked if Abby would like to play soccer. I talked to Abby about it and she said if the team only had girls and she could wear a dress that she would try it. Well, I told her the team would only have girls, but she got to wear pink cleats and have a pink ball instead of a wearing a dress. She went with it not knowing at all what soccer was.

The first practice started off well and then she burst into tears towards the end saying she didn't like it. She finished practice and we talked more about it that week. The next practice was worse. She cried from the time we got there until we left. It was just ugly. HOWEVER, by the third practice she was out there alone the whole hour doing great! She fell in love with the coach and I was excited about her actually liking it!

Time for her first game last Saturday. She got there and seemed good until she saw what was going on. She teared up but when she got with her team and her coach, she was ok. The funniest part of it was when she was out there playing, she would NOT look at us. We would scream and cheer and she would purposefully NOT look our direction. It was hilarious. I couldn't tell if she was truly mad at us for making her do it, or just embarrassed that we were cheering for her so loud! : )

I can not even tell you how PROUD I was of Abby that morning. She got out there and did it. She didn't want to and she was mad at me for making her, but she did it and I was just so proud my heart could have burst!! It is HUGE for her to do things she isn't comfortable doing and she rocked it!!!

Abby Bain is FOUR and we had some celebrating to do. Abby has never had a "real" birthday party and this year she wanted to have a princess party at Sweet and Sassy so that is what we did! There was lots of pink, purple and princesses everywhere. The girls arrived and got dressed up first thing. They got their hair, nails and make-up done. After they were "ready" to go, they received a tiara and a princess wand and walked out on a stage while being introduced. They all clapped and cheered for each other. Some liked that more than others. : ) They had a dance party on stage and after they were danced out, it was time for cake!! Of course we had a princess castle cake complete with Abby's princesses surrounding it. What a fun time of celebrating!

Abs - we all love you so much. I didn't know how much I could love, care for and want to protect someone until I had you! YOU are an amazing little girl. You are a thinker and I love that about you. You are alot like me and I can relate to you most of the time! We ADORE you and LOVE you my big FOUR year old!!! I am a blessed mom!

My sweet boy! How in the world are you already 7 months old?

You are such a joy. You are rolling all over the place and sitting up by yourself. We just found 2 teeth coming in on the bottom front and that explains some drooling and you chewing on everything lately. You still don't sleep well. You take 3 short naps during the day and go to bed about 6:30. You wake up EARLY....way too early but we are hoping this passes soon. Hunter, you are the perfect addition to our family. You smile all the time and make us laugh. We love you so much!!! Happy 7 months!

We got to have some fun too!

This past weekend was the 11th annual draft weekend for our husbands. There are 16 of them. All great friends from Baylor. The guys go draft and have a good time together and the girls and kids get together and have some fun too.

Leslie and Ashley don't live in Dallas anymore so they came in town on Friday and the weekend began with pizza and a ~~not at all~~ quiet night at home! Saturday we met the rest of the girls and kids at the Galleria to play and eat lunch. Everyone then headed home for nap time. Then it was off to the pool for a bit. NEVER a dull moment!!! The moms met up for dinner that night and we got to have some fun by ourselves too! It's so neat that our husbands were all fraternity brothers first and now the wives are such good friends. Love these girls! Sunday the boys returned about noon and everyone went on their way. It was a crazy, non-stop weekend but so much fun. The kids played SO WELL together and it is so fun to see them becoming such great friends too. Loved every minute!!

Today was the first day of MDO. What an exciting day! I woke up singing and Abby thought I had lost it. Don't get me wrong...I had a GREAT summer with my kids, but it was time for some structure and mommy time!!! Abby was a bit teary, but she did great and said she had a great day. Hunter could have cared less and even slept an HOUR for them! Might just have to sign him up for Thursdays!!!

Abby had her first soccer practice on Saturday morning. I signed Abby up knowing that there was a good chance that she would hate it....and I was kind of right.

We started off great. She was running with the team and following the coach doing everything she said. Then it was time for a water break. She started sobbing saying she hated it and wanted to go home. The team got back together and she refused to join them. I sat her down and we talked about what she didn't like. She said she was hot and tired of running. Well, it was REALLY hot and I didn't blame her one bit, but tried to encourage her to finish practice with the team. She did, but still says it's not her favorite. We will try again next Saturday. Lord help us when the games start. Yikes!

Think we will stick to dance! : )

Abby has finished up two weeks of dance camp. The girl LOVES dance. She was so excited to go back to the dance studio and see some of her friends from her previous dance class. We got dressed and went the first Monday morning. Everything was going great until the teacher (who Abby did not know) said to line up and hold hands with your neighbor. Now Abby has come a LONG way with her shy little personality, BUT she still HATES holding hands with people.....espeically friends her age. She wants her space and doesn't want anyone in hers. I knew this wasn't going to go well when the teacher kept telling Abby to hold hands with the two girls on either side of her. Abs took one look back at me and ran my direction. She started screaming that she didn't want to go in. I told her I would walk her in and I did...however, Abby did not let go of me! She screamed and screamed!!! The teacher told me to just run out and after I literally PEELED her off of me, I did. Everyone in the hall could hear Abs and she just kept begging the teacher to "Please let me go see my mommy"! After about 5 minutes of that, the teacher brought her out to me and politely asked us to try again the next time. I wasn't quite sure what to do. Do I punish her? Do I even try it again? What in the world was going on??? It had to be more than the hand holding, right?

Abby wasn't talking. She is great at changing the subject if you bring up something she doesn't want to talk about. She did that all day long when I would ask about dance. However, that night as I was putting her to bed I asked her one more time why she didn't want to go to dance that morning. She said, "I didn't know the teacher's name". Really? That was it?? Well, she didn't want to hold hands either, but the main thing was the teacher's name. Sooooo...problem solved. We went early the next day and asked the teacher her name. She said it was Erin and Abby was fine after that! Problem solved. Well, that and she stood at the end of the line each time they lined up and still didn't hold a hand!

Bless her. Some days it's just the little things that get us all out of whack.

SIX months

Hunter is SIX months old! How did that happen? We went to see Dr. G yesterday for his six month appt. and all is well. Hunter is 17.7 pounds! He is a beast! When the nurse came in to give him his shots, she said, "oh my! look at those thighs"! Can't wait to start feeding him "real" food in the next few days. He is sleeping much better....because of Bo. It was time for him to start crying a bit (or a lot) and Bo was the one that made me stick with it. It's so hard, but so worth the pay off. He still isn't taking great naps, but there were a couple hour and a half naps in there this week, so that was great!

The past six months have just flown by. I know the next six will too. Hunter is such a precious baby and still just adores the SOCKS off his sister. He BEAMS when she is around. She, of course, loves that. He is pretty laid back and still loves to be out and about. He is just about to sit up and is rolling all over the place. He is grabbing at things and puts EVERYTHING in his mouth. Currently, he is drooling all over the place, but no teeth yet! He still takes 3 naps a day. The morning nap seems to be the best. He goes to bed at 6:30/7 and is up around 6:00. He sleeps on his tummy.

Abby is obsessed with princesses. She loves them all and pretends she is a princess and Daddy is her prince. So cute. She decided to make her night gown a veil one day and she has been "married" ever since. She will say, "Mom, can I be married?" and off she goes to grab a night gown and put it on her head like her veil. She twirls around and sings all the time. It's a constant reminder to pray for her future spouse! How did I get such a girly girl??? Love every minute!

Hunter is loving his exersaucer. I thought he would still be too young, but my word, he is almost 6 months old. Crazy. He loves it. Will stand in that thing for hours. I love that since he won't nap long...at least he is occupied.

Our summer is flying. I always think it will be so slow and especially this summer since we have not traveled much at all. It's been really hot, but it truly has gone by so fast! We stay busy in the mornings and have had tons of fun play dates. We crash in the afternoon and then hang at home. Too hot to get out!!! We are loving summer. Don't get me wrong.....I am ready for MDO to start back up...just to get a little break and for some structure, but summer has been fun and not a dull moment for sure!

Well, we are 6 lessons into this and Abby is doing much better! She has decided as long as the water is "warm" she will stick her head under...just for a bit. She will jump to the teacher without holding her hands which has been big.

This is the first time that Abs has ever done swim lessons. My goal for her this summer was to be more confident in the water and she is doing that. I am very proud of her!

We started out our Fourth of July weekend at Rosey's house on Saturday afternoon. We have some friends from Baylor moving to Dallas and we are so excited to have them here! Kelli and Eric have 3 kids and the youngest is Hunter's age. They were hilarious together "talking" and laughing at each other. Rosey was thrilled to have the gang at his house...not so sure about the 11 kids running around it! : ) He told us to bring things for the kids to do and that we did! There was a pool, bounce house and sprinkler in the back yard so the kids had plenty to do and everyone had a great time. Glad you are here, Hills!

The Browns came over Monday evening to watch fireworks and make smores. Since H goes to bed so early we stayed home and watched the fireworks from our backyard. The kids were so patient waiting. It doesn't get dark until WAY past my bedtime these days! : ) We had a great time, as always, with them.

Hope you had a great Fourth of July too! Life is good....isn't it?!

FIVE months

Oh my sweet boy!! How are you five months old already?? It just goes by so fast. Now, don't be silly...I am more than ready for you to sleep all night long and start taking good naps, but you are just precious and I am CRAZY about you!!!

You started rolling over about a week ago. You get stuck when you get to your tummy. We are working on that! You had started sleeping much better at night, but then when you learned this trick, we had to figure out a way to keep you from rolling over at night and FREAKING OUT when you would do it in the middle of the night. So far, it has worked and you are back to sleeping really well. Thank goodness!!

You cat nap all day long...you take about 4 maybe 5 - 30 min. naps a day. This is JUST what your sister did! Good thing I am used to it. You are so happy when you are awake and you LOVE to go places. You are actually happiest when we are out of the house. THAT is just like your sister too!!! I LOVE IT. So happy that you like to be out and about.

You have a laugh that just makes my heart smile. I literally just beam when you laugh. Abby makes you laugh more than anyone else. She just has to walk by you and you smile at her. She loves it and so do I.

I adore you, precious one. I thank the Lord for you every single day. I love being your mommy!!!

Bo spent his Father's Day with 2 cranky, tired kids and a 4 hour car ride back from Houston. He came home to a dinner that consisted of BBQ chips and a granola bar. We had no food after our trip. We had a late lunch on the road but still....that is pretty pathetic.

Never once did he complain. Never once did he say that this was "his day" and he deserved better. That is my Baby Daddy. He is amazing, self-less, loving, honest and just a GREAT dad. He loves his kids more than anything and puts his family first. He would do anything for Hunter or Abby. They have no idea how perfect he is for them! They have no idea what an amazing role model he is and how much I pray they both recognize that one day and thank him. I pray Hunter is just like him and I pray Abby finds someone just like him to marry one day.

I am lucky. I am honored. I am blessed.

Another FUN year at cousin camp!! All of the kids (as well as the adults) had a BALL once again! There was a fun activity every morning and after nap time there was lots of swimming going on!

The first day, we headed out to an outdoor farm complete with petting zoo, train ride and bounce houses. It was very hot and Hunter was a TROOPER! After lunch we headed back to Mimi and Papa's to cool off in the pool! The adults had a dinner out that night while the kids had a pancake dinner at home!

The second morning a professional photographer came over and took lots of pictures of the kids and families. I can't wait to see them! Her last picture was all of the kids jumping into the pool with their clothes on! The kids thought that was HILARIOUS!! Too cute. After drying off, we went to Kid Zone where Mimi had rented out the place for us. We had a birthday party for each kid complete with cake and presents. We headed back for nap time and them went swimming again and grilled out that night.

The last day we went to The Little Gym for some fun. Again, we had the place to ourselves so it was a blast! After a morning of running around there, we grabbed some lunch and headed back to Dallas. Abby was asleep before we got out of the parking lot. Hunter slept just about the whole way back! We were all exhausted last night, but we had such a great time. Thank you so much, Mim and Papa! Thanks for all the fun memories! Cousin Camp 3 did not disappoint!

Abby started swimming lessons today. This is her first time to ever take them and she was a bit nervous when we got there. The teacher is great and Abby did a great job! This will be our life every Tues/Thursday for the next four weeks. I can't wait to see all she learns!

Ahhh...what a fun, but busy Sunday! We started the day with Hunter's baby dedication at our church. Bo and I believe that Hunter was given to us from the Lord and we wanted to say publicly that we would raise him to be a leader and teach him about Jesus. We pray that Hunter will one day make the decision to follow HIM and we pray we can help lead him to that point. It was a sweet time for our family.

After a quick lunch we came home and regrouped for Abby's big dance recital! She did an AMAZING job and it was so much fun to see her sweet face on that big stage. We were all so proud of her. I LOVED every minute!

Thank you to all four grandparents for coming to Big D for the weekend. It was a special one and it made it even more special that each of you were here. We love you!

This past weekend our friends from Lubbock came to Dallas! B and L own Green Cattle Beef and they make deliveries to Dallas every few months. It had been a while since Abby had seen Ian, but they picked up right where they left off. Not many boys are Abby's "speed", but Ian is one that is perfect for her. This last picture cracks me up because it looks like they are an old married couple just hanging out together. Ian sat here forever! So funny.

We never need an excuse to get the gang together, but having the Lohrdings visit made it more fun. Thanks for coming and bringing your beef! : )

Oh my sweet boy! How are you 4 months old already?? You are precious and such a blessing to our family. Dr. G said you were doing great. You weigh 14 pounds and 11 oz. You are 26 inches long! Looks like you are going to be a big and tall guy just like your daddy. You hold your head up great and are starting to reach for toys. You put everything in your mouth!!

I wish you slept better. You are doing ok at night....for now! You go to sleep about 6:30 or 7 and sleep 8-10 hours before you are hungry again. You eat quickly and sleep until around 6. Naps are not so good. We are working on this (and you hate it)!

We love you so much, Hunter. I think Abby loves you the most! She ADORES you and is such a great helper. She makes you smile more than anybody else. I think you adore her too! I know once you start crawling and grabbing her toys things might change a bit! Will see!!

Bo went to Indy for the weekend so Abby, Hunter and I headed to Longview for some cousin time! We had a great time playing and spending most of our time outside. All of the kids got along really well and Abby is already planning our next trip back. Summer is here for sure! Thank you, Meredith, for a FUN weekend. We will do it again soon!

How is it the end of the "school" year already? So crazy that Abby has gone to MDO for 2 years now. She LOVED this year. Her teachers were AMAZING and she really grew up and for most of the year didn't think twice about going.

Best quote of the day - "Mom, if today is my last day of school and last week for dance class, when is my last day of church?". Abby still has a hard time at church because there is a different teacher each week. Abs is all about consistency and structure. She is doing better, but it's not her favorite right now! : ) Made me laugh out loud. Love my BIG girl!

My friend told me about an app that I knew nothing about. It's called hipstamatic. I am still trying to figure it out and play with it, but I love the pictures it takes. Maybe I just love taking pictures of my kids, but either way it's an app to know about!

We had two special visitors come all the way from East Texas to meet Hunter. Well, I think they really came to shop in Dallas, but they SAID it was to meet H!

Aunt Ebby and Aunt Sarah are sisters and they are Bo's aunts. Ebby has wanted Bo to have a son ever since the day we got married. It is really important to her that the "Bain name" be carried on. When we found out we were pregnant with Abby, she said "she was going to pray every day that it was a boy". Well, I did not make that call after finding out that we were having a girl!! She, of course, was happy for us but said that she would just start praying for the next one to be a boy! NO PRESSURE! : ) Needless to say when we found out we were having a boy we were thrilled to make this phone call to Aunt Ebby. She was so excited. I think she checked in with me and how I was feeling more than anyone else in the family! After Hunter was born she called about every other day for a while to see how HE was doing! So funny.

We loved that she got to come meet the BAIN man! I hope and pray he lives up to all the expectations!

We love bath time at our house! I know once Hunter is actually splashing Abby and messing with her bath toys it won't be near as much fun, but we are loving it right now! Abby is a huge help in the tub! H loves his bath and Abby will sit in there for 30-45 minutes playing so it's a nice evening activity as we wait for Daddy to get home. Anything to pass those last few hours of the day, right?

I can not believe that my boy is 3 months! He is the sweetest thing in the world. The whole "enjoying a baby" has become real to me this time around! He started smiling around week 6 and has just started "talking" and even laughing some. He isn't a great sleeper during the day, but getting much better at night. Thank you Lord!! He goes down about 6:30 or 7 and is up once around 2 or 3. He seems laid back and just goes and with the flow. His sister loves him and continues to be a big help. I now understand why some want time to stand still when their babies are this little. I do! Love you, Hunter! Happy THREE months!!

When you can't spend Easter with your real family, why not spend it with your Dallas family? A few weeks ago, Kevin Brown and Bo decided we needed to do a crawfish broil. They planned every detail and it was a blast. When the swimming pool of live crawfish arrived in our backyard Abby had no idea what was going on. So fun to play all afternoon and cook out with great friends. We had fun, ate a lot, played hard and ended the night throwing our stinky kids in the tub before bed time! We all slept well. Even Hunter....he crashed about 8 and slept until 4!! YAY! Keep up the great work, H-man!!

This morning Abby woke up and went out front to find eggs the Easter bunny had left for her. She loved her Easter basket full of goodies and was really excited when she realized she got to eat Hunter's candy too since he can't eat any yet. We went to church and celebrated the Risen Lord! What a blessed day. Praise HIM the HE is truly ALIVE!! I hope your Easter was blessed as well.

Papa had not seen Hunter since we left the hospital on Jan. 30th. So he decided a trip to Big D was in order! We had a great weekend with both Papa and Mimi. We went to the Easter egg hunt, grilled out and the boys even got in a round of golf. One day Hunter will join them I am sure. Bo and I are so blessed to have amazing parents. Thanks for coming to see us!!

This morning was the annual Easter egg neighborhood hunt! It lasts all of 2 minutes, but it is a lot of fun. The day could not be prettier to go run around grabbing a few eggs out of hundreds that are just lying around on the ground. Abby and Karlie ran around gathering eggs and Hunter was content just to hang out. Perfect day!!

We took a family trip to the mall this weekend to get the yearly picture with the Easter bunny. Abby was in love with it this year so it was fun. Hunter could have cared less. Love both of their faces!!! Let the festivities begin!!
