"cowboy camp" day 5

Time to ride some horses!

They had a horse there named Reese.  Jason asked the wrangler to point her out.
She, of course, was beautiful!

This was Abby's pose for the week.  Who knows where she got this.

Gathering at the Lodge for dinner!

Abby got to ring the dinner bell!

After dinner, we attempted to take some family pictures down by the coral.
Hunter was not so interested.

He wanted to hang with the horses instead.

Do you see the cross at the top of the mountain?  Jason noticed it and asked John, the ranch owner, about it.  He said a Young Life group puts one up every summer.  So cool!

Western Party

At the western party, the staff does skits and it's a fun night!  They surprised my dad and included him in one of the skits.  It was hilarious.

Abby also had a skit to do with her kid's group!  Abby LOVED all the activities and the counselors that led the kid's group.  Bo and I hardly saw her all week!

There is really no other place like DVR.   To think that in the year 2012 you can let your kids run around a camp and not once worry about where they are or if they are safe is just amazing.  The kids ran all over that place all.day.long.  There are no keys to the cabins and the doors and windows are left
open all day.  Having a Christian staff surround your family the whole week is such a blessing.

Growing up at DVR, nothing much has changed and I love that about it.  The weekly schedule is the same every time we go and the family style meals in the lodge are the same too.  Just ask Dad about the Mexican buffet for Tuesday lunch!   Our family keeps growing and the little ones are learning about the ranch.  It's fun to take my kids to a place that I loved so much growing up.  Loved my family time and loved being with each one of them!   Until summer 2014!  Happy Trails!!

I have had the best time looking at all of your pictures. Your family is such a blessing! Riley came in while I was checking them out and was asking all sorts of questions. He loved Abby's pink boots. :o) Glad you all had such a great trip, and HOORAY for family traditions. That's a GREAT one!
